Now that you have identified opportunities to experiment with time, write a scene in which you either leap over it or portray it in slow motion.
Be conscious of what you’re doing here.
By leaping, you’re telling the reader: “Establishing Tuesday afternoon study hall is necessary. Now I’m taking you forward in time in order to show you why.”
By slowing, you’re telling the reader: “This moment is important. Something is changing or coming true. Inhabit this experience along with my character. See why it matters to them.”
